Ingredient notes
Sausages – We often use sausages from a jar in our dishes. It’s easy, and it’s sausages that the kids love. So, that’s what we do. If you’d prefer to use different sausages, go ahead. Use the ones you like best.
Pasta – We mainly use penne pasta for pasta bakes. They turn out delicious when baked, and they can soak up a lot of the delicious sauce flavor, and you get a little more sauce because of the hole in the middle. Of course, you can use other types of pasta if you prefer.
Vegetables – We use red bell peppers here. Our kids love red bell peppers. But you can use all sorts of vegetables and also use the dish as a “clean out the fridge” meal, where you put the week’s leftover vegetables in the dish with pasta and sausages. Only your imagination sets the limit.
