Easy baked cauliflower
We love cabbage at home, and cauliflower is no exception.
You can make so much delicious food with cauliflower, and it is something that both children and adults love to put their teeth into at our home.
Baked cauliflower is one of my favorites. It is a whole roasted cauliflower in the oven, which you can give a taste of delicious herbs, cheese, or something else.
Here in the recipe, it is baked whole cauliflower with parsley, lemon, a little garlic, and parmesan.
Then it will not get much better.
You can of course vary the topping so that it is as you like it best, and try with other herbs or other kinds of cheese.
Whole roasted cauliflower does not get as soft in texture as when you boil it. It has a bite to it, and that’s how we like it best. If you want it soft, you can boil it a little before roasting it.
We like best to just roast it because we don’t like it too soft.
But it’s entirely up to you.
Baked cauliflower is perfect to serve with everything from fish to chicken or other types of meat. There’s actually not much that it does not go with.
Ingredient notes
Cauliflower – Choose a nice and large cauliflower head. Then it can not go completely wrong.
Parsley – Parsley gives a good taste to the cauliflower. You can also try other types of herbs.
Lemon – The sour taste from the lemon peel, goes well with parsley and cauliflower.
Butter – There is usually a little butter on top. It gives a wonderful nutty taste when baked.
Parmesan – The parmesan contributes some creaminess and it has a good salty taste that goes well with the mild cabbage. You can also use other kinds of cheeses.
How to make whole roasted cauliflower with parsley and lemon?
It is not at all that difficult to make whole roasted cauliflower.
First, the cauliflower must be prepared. It is washed and the green leaves are removed, and then it must be dried with a paper towel or a tea towel. The cauliflower head is placed in an ovenproof dish.
Then melt some butter and add chopped garlic, chopped parsley, and lemon zest. The cauliflower is brushed with the melted spice butter, and then it should have salt and pepper and then go in the oven.
After an hour, it should have parmesan on top, and then it should just be allowed to melt, and then it’s ready to serve. If necessary, sprinkle the finished cauliflower with a little fresh parsley and serve immediately.
